I just returned from the Kolter Lab retreat which was held in eastern Spain in a town called al Baida ("the white"). It was five fun-filled and science-filled days with 25 people who spent at least part of their careers in the Kolter Lab. It was an unbelievable week!

Congratulations to our undergraduates!!!! Michael Ferrantino and Jon Budzik, who will be starting their junior year in the fall, were recently named Presidential Scholars. Dartmouth's Presidential Scholars program supports undergraduate research during the academic year. Jon was also named a Beckman Scholar. The Beckman Scholar program will support Jon's research during his junior year, the summer following his junior year, and allow him to attend a meeting with Beckman Scholars from other institutions to present his work.

John (J.P.) Connolly joined the lab as a Ph.D. student.  J.P. is the third graduate student to join the lab.  He did his undergrad degree at Bates College in Maine.
