JP Connolly has successfully defended his Master's thesis. In a few weeks he is off to NYC and he'll be teaching at St. Anne's School, a private high school, in the fall. Congrats JP!

We have had two new additions to the lab for the summer. Carla Cugini will be starting as an MCB student this fall but she is getting a jump by starting in the lab this summer. Nel Venzon comes to us from the University of Hawaii as part of the SURF program (SURF) that provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to do biomedical research on the Dartmouth campus for the summer. Welcome!

Dan MacEachran and Russell Monds will be joining the lab as Ph.D. students. We are excited to have them join our group. Welcome aboard!

We have just returned from the second annual lab retreat in Wells, Maine. The retreat was for three days, from June 3-5. Here are a few pictures from the retreat.

This is the house where the retreat was held.

This second floor room overlooking a salt marsh was used for the science presentations. Everyone had ~2 hrs to present their work over the past year and the directions they'd like to go in the coming year.

The location was fabulous!

And we did have some fun, too.
