I recently became involved in an NIH-funded program called NH-INBRE, which works to develop research opportunities for undergraduates at small undergraduate colleges (2 and 4 yr) and universities around NH. This program also supports mentoring programs for faculty at these smaller instituions interested in developing research programs. The NH-INBRE program, and my role in it, is highlighted in a recent article in Dartmouth Medicine. Check it out here.

Doug Forrester, a visiting physician-scientist from the UK leaves us after almost 6 fun-filled and productive months in the lab. Doug worked hard to make some useful modifications to our epithelial cell - biofilm model, allowing us to do more high-through put studies. He also enjoyed his time in New England, doing plenty of biking and hiking. We'll miss having him in the lab.
