Christiaan "Chris" Rees recently joined the lab.  He is a medical student here at the Geisel School of Medicine.  he's working with Gary Heussler, a PhD student in the lab, studying CRISPR/Cas phage immune systems.  Welcome!

Gary Heussler, a Ph.D. student in the lab recently worked with Ann Lavanway, a staff member in the Biology Department, to host a group of 66 students from Woodstock Union Middle School in Vermont.  They had some time to work in the lab - doing a lysozyme assay and look at motile bacteria under the microscope.   It was a terrific opportunity to expose young students to science!
