Gary
Heussler, a Ph.D. student in the lab (top), and Chris Rees, a MD/Ph.D.
rotation student, recently participated in the New Hampshire Networks of
Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE)
Scientific Sojourn. Gary and Chris spent an afternoon meeting with STEM
undergraduates from smaller institutions in NH, including
Colby-Sawyer College, Franklin Pierce University, Great Bay Community
College, Keene State College, New England College,
Plymouth State University, St. Anselm College, and the University of New
Hampshire. During the visit, Gary and Chis demonstrated Pseudomonas syringae ice-nucleation
experiments, as well as discussing their own research and answer
questions about working in a large research institution. One goal of
the NH-INBRE is to improve the research experience of students at smaller, non-research-intensive schools in NH.
