Two colleagues and collaborators at Dartmouth, Juliette Madan (right) and Anne Hoen, were interviewed on Science Friday on NPR this week.  I have worked with Drs. Madan and Hoen studying the microbiome of infants and children with CF, a topic they also discussed during the show.  Check out this link and this link for recent papers from our group on this topic.

I recently served as an Editor for an issue of the Journal of Bacteriology which includes a special section focusing on a recent conference that covered c-di-GMP signaling.  The cover of the issue is shown on the left.  This issue, and some other recent work from our lab was covered in a recent mBioSphere blog post.

Laura Filkins, a postdoc in the lab, recently published a "PLOS Pearl" in PLOS Pathogens titled "Cystic Fibrosis Lung Infections: Polymicrobial, Complex, and Hard to Treat".  This very nice review highlights recently microbiome studies in the context of CF lung infections and how what we have learned recently about the polymicrobial nature of these infections should impact how we treat this chronic infections.
