Together, friends and family of Cystic Fibrosis patients, DHMC staffers, CF researchers at the Geisel School of Medicine staff raised over $12,700 for the Hanover 2016 Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis event. The walk was kicked off by a beautiful speech by Meghan, who reminded us why our fundraising and support is important and how research funded by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation positively impacted her life. Walkers enjoyed refreshments generously donated by Lou's, Dazzle Cupcakes, and Moe's. All funds donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation support research for drug development and a cure to this devastating disease.

My third Classic Spotlight was recently published in JB. As a reminder, JB turns 100 years old this year and to celebrate we are highlighting classic papers published over the past century. My most recent Classic Spotlight is titled "Cyclic-Di-GMP, the Molecule that Makes the Bacterial World Stop Going 'Round". This article focuses on papers in JB that contribute to our understanding of the biochemistry underlying the making and breaking of this second messenger. Check out all the Clssic Spotlights! There is alot of microbiology history in the pages of JB.
