Jessie Scott, a PhD student in the lab, had a get together for people who are interested in participating in our annual Cystic Fibrosis Great Strides walk on May 13.  People had some snacks, made a poster highlighting research at our Center and registered for the walk.  We are one of the few centers that has walkers that are family members AND researchers.  You can register for this fund-raising walk here.  We are looking forward to another successful event!

Yesterday was the annual Dartmouth CF Retreat, held at the Hanover Inn (left) on the Dartmouth campus.  We had ~100 attendees from across New England, including basic scientists and physician-scientists, as well as attendees from pharma and biotech.  The talks at the conference spanned topics from host-pathogen interactions to immune responses in CF, to new therapies and clinical trial data, to clinical care and mining the CF registry. We had attendees from the University of Vermont, Maine Medical Center, Harvard Medical School and number of the Boston-area hospitals, Yale and of course Dartmouth.  The retreat was kindly supported by Vertex. It was a terrific event.  We hope to see you there next year.

Giulia Orazi (top) and Jessie Scott, two PhD students in the lab, are attending the ASM Conference on Mechanisms of Interbacterial Cooperation and Competition, to be held in Washington, DC, March 1 – 4, 2017. Both Giulia and Jessie's posters were selected for talks - it is a great opportunity for them to present their work.
